This is the third full length Chromo Valdez release and ventures [a bit] into ambient territory. Although still very beat oriented the multi layered tracks sound lush and relaxed. This collection has been "in the can" for a while as all of the tracks were recorded in 2021 and I made a spontaneous decision to have it mastered and released for this Bandcamp Friday, February 3rd, 2023. The recording process was the same as previous releases, starting with a beat and adding another beat or two on top and then listening for the melody or chord progression that reveals itself within the rhythm. Then the process of looking for appropriate sounds, loops, progressions and sequences begins with a good amount of happenstance thrown in for good measure. It's difficult to say if this is a morning record or an evening record, not unlike the cover art - is it a Sunrise? Is it a Sunset? The 8 tracks clock in at just under 44 minutes so please enjoy this relatively short journey into sometimes dark and sometimes light, dissonant and melodic beauty!
